The Cochrane District Services Board, including the Cochrane District Paramedic Service extends our deepest condolences to the community of Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia, following the tragic events that have shaken their town.
In moments like this, first responders are called to act with professionalism and courage under unimaginable circumstances. In small communities, these calls are never anonymous — they involve neighbours, classmates, friends, and family. Paramedics, dispatchers, police, fire crews, and health‑care professionals respond knowing the emotional weight will not end when the call does.
We recognize the strength it takes to run toward crisis, to provide care and comfort while carrying personal fear and grief. We stand in solidarity with every responder and health‑care worker who answered that call, and with a community now navigating profound loss.
Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and all those affected. You are not alone. In recognition of this loss, flags at all CDSB offices will be flown at half‑mast to honour the victims and all those affected by this tragedy.
