Cochrane District Services Board Announces Leadership Appointments in Paramedic Services and Health Services

Timmins, ON – The Cochrane District Services Board (CDSB) is pleased to formally announce the appointment of Marc Renaud as Paramedic Chief for the Cochrane District Paramedic Service (CDPS), effective immediately. Marc has been in the position of Acting Paramedic Chief since 2024, following Jean Carriere’s appointment as Director of Health for the CDSB.

Marc Renaud’s career in Emergency Medical services spans over 30 years, including 18 years on the frontline and ten years as a college instructor. His deep understanding of patient care and emergency response logistics has sharpened his skills in coordinating critical care response in complex and remote environments. As Paramedic Chief, Marc will guide the service with a strategic approach focused on enhancing emergency response capabilities and expanding Community Paramedicine Programs for the benefit of the more than 83,000 residents served by the Cochrane District Paramedic Service.

As Marc steps into this leadership role, he builds on the strong foundation established by previous Chief of Paramedic Services, Jean Carriere, who served 15 years as Paramedic Chief, advancing emergency services across the District. During his tenure, Jean’s exemplary service was recognized through prestigious honours, including the N.H. MacNally Award for Bravery and the Governor General’s Exemplary Service Medal.

“As Chair of the Cochrane District Services Board, I am pleased to congratulate Marc Renaud on his appointment as Paramedic Chief. Marc’s dedication, leadership, and commitment to excellence will serve our communities well as we continue to advance high-quality paramedic services across the district,” shares Michelle Boileau, Chair of the Cochrane District Services Board and Mayor of the City of Timmins.  “I also want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Jean Carriere for his many years of outstanding service with the Cochrane District Paramedic Service. Jean’s professionalism and compassion have made a lasting impact on our team and the people we serve. On behalf of the Board, thank you both for your leadership and unwavering commitment to public safety.”
