Employment Ontario

The Cochrane District Services Board is the service delivery agent for Employment Ontario (EO) programs, funded by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD) in Cochrane, Iroquois Falls and Matheson. 

Through EO, CDSB’s Employment Resource Workers complete assessments and referrals for career planning, job searching and job retention for people working less than 20 hours per week or who are looking for better employment. Our team also provides help to employers with their hiring needs and offer training incentives.

Funding may be available to help with employment-related activities associated with employment start-up (e.g. work wear, licensing fees, transportation, child care). Clients can talk to their Employment Resource Worker for more information. 

Employment Resource Centres:

The CDSB directly operates three Employment Resource Centres in the Cochrane District. These centres provide non-assisted services to any individuals in the community. Resource Centre Clerks are available provide one-on-one help with job searching. Our centres provide:

• Job and Training Boards
• Resume and Cover Letter Assistance
• Access to Labour Market Information
• Computer and Internet Access
• Printer, Fax, Photocopier and Telephone Access for job searching
• Online Certificate Training (Occupational Health and Safety Courses)
