The Cochrane District Services Board’s (CDSB) Community Development and Services department plays a vital role in advancing the well-being and stability of residents across the Cochrane District. Formerly known as the Ontario Works, this department was renamed to better reflect the person-centered approach to supporting people from income assistance to employment pathways and homelessness initiatives.
The Community Development and Services department is responsible for delivering three key programs:
Person-Centered Supports
Every service is grounded in respect, cultural safety and the belief that every person deserves the opportunity to thrive. Case management and supports are tailored around the individual’s unique needs and are delivered with compassion and accountability.
Partnerships That Make a Difference
We know that no single organization can meet the needs of every person, so the CDSB works closely with community agencies, Indigenous service providers, municipalities, health providers, education and training sectors and lived experience leaders. This collective approach strengthens outcomes and makes sure that the right supports are available across the Cochrane District.
