Case Aide

Salary: $23.31 – $27.61

Summary

Under the general direction of the Ontario Works Program Manager, in accordance with CDSSAB policies and procedures and CDSSAB Vision & Values.

Key Responsibilities of Position

  • Complete intake application by phone, in person, or on-line
  • Complete ODSP application for Discretionary Benefits
  • Responds to inquiries from clients and general public
  • Receives information from clients both on the telephone and in person
  • Responsible for scheduling new appointments for, and assigning cases to Case Managers
  • Accept and process rental payments for housing
  • Process Northern Health Travel Grants
  • Complete intake for funerals
  • Processing and updating of housing applications
  • Provides clerical support
  • Back-up for other clerks
  • Performs reception and filing function
  • Compiles statistics and reports as necessary
  • Participates as a member of the team
  • Other related duties as assigned
  • Confirmation of COVID 19 vaccination or approved medical exemption is required.


Skills & Qualifications

  • Two-year diploma in office administration or business administration with related experience or a combination of education/experience acceptable to the employer.
  • Relevant experience in the social services arena
  • Excellent writing, communication and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated ability in word processing and spreadsheet software
  • Working knowledge of the full range of programs delivered by the CDSSAB including; Ontario Works, Child Care and Social Housing
  • Bilingualism preferred but not required in accordance with the French Language Services policy
  • Criminal Record Search
  • COVID-19 vaccination required.
