SUMMARY

Under the general direction of the Housing Services Program Manager, this position is responsible to administer and execute the Rent Supplement Program, determine eligibility for Rent Geared to Income for all Rent Supplement and CDLHC Tenants, oversee the income testing process for the Co-Ops and Non-Profits in the Timmins area and provide Administrative Support to the Program Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION

  • Initiate tracking and distribution of Annual Income Review for Rent Supplement Units. Request and analyse income & assets of all tenants.
  • Calculate rents, verify and calculate monthly rent adjustments. Prepare unit offers to applicants. Review on an on-going basis whether a household continues to meet eligibility rules for RGI assistance.
  • Process offer of vacant units for CDLHC and prepare lease.
  • Prepare and process tenant terminations (LTB).
  • Monitor and collect arrears.
  • Respond to tenant concerns and inquiries.
  • Prepare CHPI/IAH housing allowance report for monthly payment.
  • Periodic inspection of rent supplement units after tenants move out. Negotiate redecoration charges with landlords.
  • Process, analyse and balance Landlord Statements at month end for payments.
  • Initiate and complete annual income reviews for all Housing Services, Non-Profit tenants.
  • Request and analyse tenant’s income/assets. Calculate tenant rents for CDSSAB and Non-Profit units.
  • Analyse and approve all rent changes/annual reviews and adjustments for other Housing Providers, Co-Ops and Non-Profits.
  • Prepare CDSSAB Housing/Non-Profit Corporation leases for all new tenants. Set up and maintain tenant files.
  • Provide clerical support to Tenant Administration program.
  • Interacting with applicants/tenants as required.
  • Post monthly rents.
  • Prepare EFT reports monthly.
  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to operate/learn applied computer programs and general office information programs.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to organize assignments and department workflows.
  • Good interpersonal skills are required to communicate with staff, landlords and clients.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Post-secondary diploma in business administration or a combination of education and experience acceptable to the employer.
  • Experience in a property management environment
