Accounts Clerk

Salary: $25.44 – $30.18

Under the general direction of the Finance Supervisor, provides financial support in accordance with related legislation, CDSSAB policies and procedures and CDSSAB Vision & Values.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION

  • Cost coding, entering invoices and receipts, processing payments in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions
  • Maintaining customer and vendor files, related correspondence and verifying payment information
  • Preparing reports, compiling data, and monthly, year-to-date and quarterly reports
  • Assisting in reconciliation of sub-ledgers and general ledger accounts
  • Assisting in posting and review of client expenses, repayments and reimbursements
  • Participating in preparation of monthly subsidy reports and supporting documentation
  • Preparing bank deposits and monthly reconciliations, maintaining PDC and payment records
  • Preparing bank reconciliations
  • Assisting in preparation and entry of general journal entries
  • Assisting in account reconciliation and analysis 
  • Support SAMS function as required


SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 2-year College Diploma in Business Administration or Accounting or a combination of education and experience acceptable to the employer
  • Knowledge of general accounting processes
  • Applicable experience within an automated accounting environment that includes ACCPAC, SAMS and Yardi
  • Knowledge of government finance
  • Proficient spreadsheet and word processing skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Criminal Record Search
