Announcement – Director of Health Services

The Cochrane District Services Board (CDSB) announces that Jean Carrière is leaving his role as Director of Health Services to focus on his mental health and to spend time with his family.

Beginning his career as a Paramedic in 1995, Jean rose through the ranks to Paramedic Chief, a role he served in for 15 years. In 2024, Jean transitioned to the role of Director of Health Services.

Throughout his career Jean has been instrumental in advancing innovative paramedic services across both Northern Ontario and the province as part of the executive of the Ontario Association of Paramedic Chiefs. During his tenure, Jean’s exemplary service was recognized through prestigious honours, including the N.H. MacNally Award for Bravery and the Governor General’s Exemplary Service Medal.

On behalf of the Board members, senior leadership, and all CDSB personnel we extend our sincere gratitude to Jean for his many years of service and the lasting impact of his contributions to the wellbeing of all in the District of Cochrane.
