SUMMARY

The EMS Clerk will support the CDSB vision by working with the CDPS team, under the direction of the Deputy Chief of CDPS, to ensure that the operations run smoothly and are successful in supporting the daily operation of the service in accordance with CDSB policies and procedures and CDSB Vision & Value.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION

  • Performs administrative/secretarial duties as required.
  • Provides administrative support to Commanders and the Deputy Chief of CDPS.
  • Ensures proper fleet maintenance according to department policy and direction.
  • Liaise with service providers to ensure timely work.
  • Anticipates fleet issues and schedules accordingly.
  • Tracks and reports fleet maintenance costs and submits to the finance department.
  • Coordinates base/building repairs as needed.
  • Manages shipping/receiving of equipment as required.
  • Compiles, distributes, and files appropriate documentation.
  • Supports scheduling according to operational needs.
  • Assists in the preparation of reports, presentations, etc.
  • Assists in contacting employees for replacement work as required.
  • Receives and verifies orders and supplies, ensuring proper stock levels and reporting to the Coordinator of Operations.
  • Provides reception services for the CDPS department.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant knowledge of the Ambulance Act, MOHLTC Policy and Procedure, CDSB and CDPS Policy and Procedure and other legislation applicable to Land Ambulance Services.
  • Relevant knowledge of fleet management systems
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Proficient writing, communication, reporting and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum two-year related Community College Diploma in Office Administration or a combination of education/experience acceptable to the employer
  • Three to five years of relevant experience

  • Bilingualism in accordance with the French Language Services policy
